Abstract (EN)

Since mankind started to work diligently on perpetuating animals that can fly as an alternative to grounded transportation vehicles, it has tried to adopt new insights and notions and benefit from newest technologies. Thus, aviation industry has gone always hand in hand with new technological innovations. There has been an increase in pilots' workloads due to today's increased air traffic and complicated aircraft structures. The most important factor that can help pilots deal with this workload increase is to put emphasis on digitalization of cockpits and computer supported software. In this study, crashes, safety and human factors have been mentioned and a solution has been sought to decrease pilot workload from software perspective. For this purpose, a performance decision support system has been developed and explained in detail, for Cessna 172S Skyhawk which can be related to digitalization in cockpits that can be used by students that use training airplanes. During process of developing decision support system, the necessary database tables have been created and the aimed performance calculations has been obtained by interpolation calculations. Cessna 172S Skyhawk flying handbook has been used as a reference for all these calculations. As a result of the development of performance decision support system, a performance calculation software has been created which helps the pilots relieve workload and prevents mistakes that can arise from calculation by hand, has a high accuracy, is easy to use and fast thus significantly saves on time.
