Çınaraltı magazine and Turkish nationalism

This study is about Çınaraltı Journal and Turkish Nationalism, which was published in one hundred and fifty issues between 1941-1944 and eleven issues in 1948. The study consists of five main parts. In the first part of the study, the Second World War, which covers the period when the Çınaraltı journal was published, and the media activities during this war period are included. In addition, the foreign policy of İsmet İnönü during the war and the measures he took for the economic problems were mentioned. In the second part, some journals published in the period of the Second World War (1939-1945) and in the Turkist and Nationalist lines are mentioned. The purpose of the publication of these journals and their place in the years they were published are mentioned. In the third part of the study, the concepts of Turk, Turkism, nationalism and Turkish nationalism are evaluated separately, and the meanings and histories of these concepts are given. The types and theories of the concept of nationalism are also evaluated within themselves. In the fourth part of the study, Çınaraltı journal, which is our main subject, and the writer staff of the journal are included. In this section, Çınaraltı journal, which is a Turkist, intellectual and art journal, is introduced and the importance of the journal for that period and the purpose of publishing the journal are mentioned. Then, the lives, intellectual and literary personalities of Orhan Seyfi Orhon and Yusuf Ziya Ortaç, who published the Çınaraltı journal and had many articles and writings in the journal, are included. In the fifth chapter, which is the last part of the study, the opinions and evaluations of the authors who have articles and articles in Çınaraltı journal about Turkism, nationalism and Turkish nationalism and their perspectives on these concepts are given.
