Investigation of the possibilities of using different organic wastes for rooting of Çobanavurgası (Sedum album L.) and Acıdamkoruğu (Sedum acre L.) cuttings

This thesis study has been prepared to reveal the possibilities of using different organic wastes as rooting media in the vegetative propagation of Sedum album L. and Sedum acre L. species that naturally spread in KırĢehir flora. The cuttings were taken from plants growing in the natural flora and were planted in the prepared environments after they were prepared as tip cuttings. As a rooting medium in the research; peat-perlite (1:1), tea waste, sawmill dust, waste mushroom compost and multi-mix (1:1) were used. Peat-perlite mixture was used as the control medium and the obtained data were compared according to this medium. In the study, parameters such as rooting rate (%), survival rate (%), root number (number), root length (number), root quality, plant height (cm) and shoot number (number) were examined. As a result of the research, 100% rooting and survival rate was obtained in all media in both species. The highest average root number was determined from the waste mushroom compost medium, 10.07 in S. album and 6.13 in S. acre. The highest quality roots were obtained from the waste mushroom compost medium in both species with the longest plant height and the highest number of shoots, while the highest data on root length were obtained from the control application. The lowest values were obtained from sawdust and tea waste in both species. Keywords: Succulent, vegetative propagation, organic waste
