Abstract (EN)
Inactivity, one of the biggest problems of today, affects people of all ages, from children to adults. Problems such as increased vehicle traffic, use of technology, unsafe environments and rapid construction restrict especially children's freedom to movement outdoors. The most effective role of encouraging children to act is the play factor. This thesis focuses on street designs made to encourage children to play, to socialize and to act in order to strengthen the relationship between child and play. In this context, the studies carried out by organizations such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to gain more access to children's rights and freedoms are included. In order to strengthen social relations on the streets, provide safe playgrounds for children, encourage people to cycle and walking, international application examples such as "Woonerf", "Home Zone", "Shared Space" and examples of play streets in Turkey have been examined. In the light of the researches, the suitability of for children Prof. Ataman DEMİR and Kahraman Streets in the Antakya Zenginler Neighborhood had evaluated. These streets are aimed to be a clean, reliable and sustainable environment that can provide physical activity opportunities such as socializing, resting, playing for children.
