Abstract (EN)

Domestic Violence is a versatile phenomenon. There are individual, social and culturel matters that can cause violence and also there are multi directional relations among them. Most of the time, domestic violence occurs against children at different levels.In this research, the aspects of the the families which perpetrate violence against children have been tried to diagnose. In addition to this, this research?s aim was also to find out the effects of the violence on children?s success in school. The socio-economic variables of the families were family structure, income and education level.This research has shown that divided, less educated, and low income families are frequently perpetrating violence against children. However, growing up in a violent home may be a terrifying and traumatic experience that can affect every aspect of a child?s life, growth, development, as well as affects kid?s success in school.This research has been made in two primary schools (Yıldırım Beyazıt and Milli Egemenlik) in the city of Tavsanli, Kutahya .Keywords: Domestic violence, Success at school, Dissdved family, Socio-economic level, Types of violence..
