Effect of space size of vehicles to help multifunctional actions in housing design

Houses are structures that are located as single or multiple floors, where people spend a significant part of their lives in which they continue their vital activities. Places suitable for different needs can be provided more effectively with auxiliary tools for actions that can be transformed into many functions, instead of using fixed furniture and tools. Here, all fixed or mobile objects and furniture used in spaces are defined with the concept of "action aids". The auxiliary tools in the design that can be transformed into more than one function will make the user's action-space-tool relationship practical, make the unused idle spaces usable and gain from the space. Spatial size of dwellings; The different lives of the user in our age vary depending on many factors such as sociological factors, nuclear family, single-person lives, busy work life, difficulty in moving, economic reasons and cultural status. In this context, the use of space of today's and future residences differs from previous housing designs, thanks to the tools that assist the actions with alternating functionality. In the thesis, on the basis of literature researches, the usability criteria of tools for transformative actions were determined, and the multi-functional distribution of these tools in the space was explained with tables and figures. Various application examples were investigated, and the spatial differences brought by the use of multi-functional and singlefunctional vehicles were emphasized, and space savings were highlighted by the use of multi-functional tools for multi-functional actions in four different housing types in an existing residential area. It was revealed that the reduction in the area sizes calculated based on the sample housing types and numbers examined through the conversion tables and function diagrams of the plans into multi-functional spaces, and it was revealed that multi-functional vehicles provide more rational and economical use in space sizes by making residential living spaces flexible.
