Abstract (EN)

In countries that are located on eathquake zone and has active earthquake faults, the biggest obstacle in the construction of high-rise and multi-storey buildings are siesmic loads. In earthquake calculations and finding siesmic loads the rules of comprehensive and up-to-date standards and codes are very important. In this thesis, according to the principles of Turkish Earthquake Building Codes (TBDY-2018) the effect of concentrically steel braces in multi-storey steel structures was investigated by using the Mode Combination Method and Equivalent Earthquake Load Method of Linear Analysis Methods. The loads affecting to building models were calculated by using the Design with Load and Strength Coefficients (YDKT) method in accordance with the Standards on Design, Calculation and Construction Principles of Steel Structures. X, V and inverted V concentrically steel braces, without brace frame and V and inverted V eccentrically steel braces were used as the frame's brace. Etabs 18 one of the finite element programs, was used in the analysis of models. As a result of the investigation; It was seen that the model without brace frame, has the largest displacement by using both analysis methods. Also it was seen that greater internal forces occurred in models were analyzed by Equivalent Earthquake Load Methode.
