Abstract (EN)
In this study, during the Spring semester of the 2023–2024 academic year, an interactive instructional material was developed based on Mayer's principles of multimedia design for nine second-year hearing-impaired students (five female and four male) enrolled in the Spreadsheet Applications course within the Computer Operation Department at Anadolu University's School for the Handicapped. The instructional material, designed in accordance with Mayer's multimedia design principles, was made available to students over a four-week period, with two class hours per week. To collect data on the effectiveness of this material in the learning processes of hearing-impaired students, the study examined the implementation process and functionality of the material, students' learning experiences, and both student and lecturer opinions regarding the material. The research was conducted using a qualitative research method and was designed as a case study. The findings revealed that the material increased student motivation and had a positive impact on students' attitudes toward the course. Furthermore, students were highly competitive and enthusiastic during the interactive activities, indicating a high level of engagement and enjoyment.
