Abstract (EN)

Communication has been the most important part of our lives, both as a necessity and as a desirable factor, from the creation of man to this time. The types of communication that change and progress periodically in the historical process have always had an impact on societies. This effect has been more noticeable on societies, especially in crisis situations. War, disaster, epidemic, etc. The perception that occurs in situations and the social reactions to these perceptions have been researched in different sciences. With the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, many factors have developed that will change human life on a global scale. Curfews were imposed due to the deadly effects of the pandemic, and the importance of masks, hygiene and distance was emphasized. There are many factors in daily life that trigger the transmission of the Covid-19 epidemic. This situation has made it prevent many behaviors that individuals do in daily life. Individuals who cannot perform activities and behaviors that have an important place in Turkish customs, traditions and cultures have been affected by social isolation as well as physical isolation due to the pandemic. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is still ongoing, affects society, social, communication, economy, education, etc. have an impact on material or moral values. Time will tell whether this effect will only stay with the pandemic or if it will be a factor affecting the future. Communication, one of the elements that form the basis of human life, is in interaction with many disciplines. In this study, considering other branches of science interacting with communication science, ethnography, sociology, psychology, history, educational sciences, economics and political sciences were used because of the subjects that make up the content. In this study, the role of transformations in social communication and cultural life during the Covid-19 pandemic periods was examined. The Covid-19 pandemic, which has spread all over the world, has been evaluated from this perspective, and a study has been made on how the communication and culture process has been transformed. The aim of this study is to reveal how the communication and culture process is transformed and its social effects during the pandemic process.
