Effect of COVID 19 financial statements of healthcare businesses traded in Borsa Istanbul (Comparative analysis and ratio analysis method)

Abstract (EN)

The financial structure of the health system that protects the health of individuals should be strong.The aim of this study; It is the examination of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic using the comparative analysis and ratio analysis method on the financial statements of the companies in the health sector in BİST 100. For this purpose, the data of the enterprises for the years 2019-2020-2021 were taken from the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) and analyzed using the MS Excel computer program. As a result of the analysis made in this study, the change in the financial statements of Covid-19, which reflects the operating results of 4 enterprises whose 12-month data can be accessed from KAP, was determined. In 2021, the period when the measures were eased, it was observed that the liquidity ratios in the health sector increased. While the profitability ratios of Deva Holding AŞ, one of the companies examined in the study, are above the sector averages, the profitability figures of RTA Laboratories AŞ are similar to the sector average. It has been observed that the operating profitability of Eczacıbaşı İlaç ve Seyitler Kimya AŞ decreased below the sector average and even compared to previous years. According to the results of the study, it was determined that health sector businesses traded in Borsa Istanbul were largely positively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
