Abstract (EN)
Hadji Beshir Aga was assigned as Black Enuch in 1717. He died in 1746, while he was still on duty. He is the only specimen to maintain the duty of Kizlar Agasi, 29 years continuously amongst other Black Enuches.Hadji Beshir Aga was so effective at both domestic and foreign policy of Ottoman State using his influence on the Sultan Mahmud I that he got by the help of his role in Patrona Halil Rebellion's putting down in 1730.Hadji Beshir Aga, as a good muslim, made most of his income over to Ottoman society's service. Amongst his Waqf Works, buildings for educational, religious and social services are prominent. He had many charities in the cities of Ottoman Geography, especially in Istanbul.
