Abstract (EN)

In this study, heavy metal accumulation [Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Lead (Pb), Arsenic (As), Zinc (Zn), Copper (Cu)] in water and zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) (Bivalvia: Dreissenidae) samples from Demirköprü Dam Lake (Manisa) was determined between December 2020 and November 2021 seasonally. The mussel samples were obtained from 3 stations and brought to the laboratory by cold chain and stored in the freezer until the time of analysis. Water sample were obtained from stations with sterile bottles in appropriate depths and transferred with cold chain samples to the laboratory. Sampling in the lake was performed for determination pH, temperature (°C), total matter (mg/L) and dissolved oxygen (mg/L) concentration seasonally. In large samples throughout the year, The heavy metal with the highest accumulation in water samples was determined as As, and the heavy metal with the highest accumulation in mussel samples was determined as Zn. Cd and Pbaccumulation in water and mussel samples were not statistically different among seasons, Cu for water samples and Cr for mussel samples were statistically significant among seasons (p<0.05). According to Turkish Food limit values, Pb, Cu, Cd values were below the limits in all seasons, Zn and As values were over the limits.
