Abstract (EN)

Taguchi Method is an experimental design technique that reduces the number ofexperiments significantly by using the orthogonal arrays and also tries to minimize the effects ofthe uncontrollable factors. The basic philosophy of Taguchi method is to provide quality in thestage of design. In this thesis, Taguchi method was used to solve the problem of fractureoccurring at plugs of the HRC fuse bases produced by Kaleporselen Electro-techniquesCompany Inc. As a result of experiments based on the specified conditions by using L8(27)orthogonal arrays, averages and S/N ratios were determined for each experiment configuration. These values were analyzed by variance analysis and the method of graphical representation offactors effects. According to the results of analysis, the factor levels which maximize thestrength of fuse base against to pressure were determined. These results were confirmed withthe Full Factorial Design. however, since the same results obtained with less experiment byusing Taguchi Method, it is preferable to use Taguchi Method.
