Abstract (EN)

This thesis, which begins with the invention and formation process of photography and examines the periods of development in the avant-garde period through the subject of "Experimental Photography" includes research based on a historical and technical survey of data on what the purpose of experimental studies of photographic intervention is and what it means for its period. After the first chapter which was introduced with the invention of photography, ideas and approaches such as mimesis, reproduction, truth, reality and uniqueness reflected in photographic production were examined conceptually. In the third part, there are intervened works which are done with the characteristics of being the first in order to complete the missing aspects of the photography, to get a better image and to gain the appreciation of the people. In the next period, the High-Art, Pictorialism movements established by the photographers who want to have the same status as the genres of art and the importance of the work of the photographers who produce work within the framework of the subject are emphasized. In the last chapter, the works produced in parallel with the subjects in line with the use of photography as an artistic material within the framework of modern art have been examined under technical titles.
