Abstract (EN)

Gaziantep Bey District is one of the first residential areas of Anatolia. This region, with its stone masonry residential architecture creates the traditional urban texture of the region. However, most of these structures cannot be adequately protected due to both human and natural actions. Earthquake is one of the natural events that cause great damage. Damaged structures can be further damaged by aftershocks if they are not supported quickly, and may even be destroyed. While preparing this thesis; it is aimed to design emergency shoring system that can be applied quickly and practically to traditional masonry buildings in accordance with the physical conditions of the region. In the first part of the thesis; after the literature researches are summarized, the purpose, importance and method of the thesis are explained. In the second part of the thesis; earthquake damages in masonry structures are explained. In the third part, information about emergency building shoring is given. In the fourth part of the thesis; an emergency exterior shoring system form has been created. In the fifth part of the thesis; the buildings of the Bey District were examined, emergency exterior shoring system are designed for possible earthquake damages. In the last part of the thesis; emergency exterior shoring types that should be applied in case of damage after an earthquake have been suggested.
