Abstract (EN)

Keywords: Frame systems, earthquake force, soil typesThe aim of this thesis is; the investigation of each earthquake regulation, which has been published in our country till today, in the aspect of the calculation methods of earthquake force. The first part of the study which consists of six chapters is introduction. In the second chapter the calculation and emerging of earthquake movement and in the third chapter dynamic response of the structures during the earthquake movement are being defined. The earthquake force calculation methods according to the earthquake regulations which are published till today are defined in the fourth chapter. In the fifth chapter, earthquake force of a model structure was calculated for all soil types and earthquake areas, according to each earthquake regulation which has been published till today. In the sixth the calculated values are compared and according to this comparison results and offers are defined. In the study, it is determined that the earthquake force which is based on the frame system design varies according to earthquake regulations, and this variety increases in Z3 and Z4 types of soils. In conclusion of this study, it is found out that, the earthquake force of the structures on these types of soils might be insufficient according to the regulation chosen for design and a necessity for examining the structure might emerge.
