Abstract (EN)
In the present study, the predictor effects of metacognitions, automatic thoughts, dysfunctional attitudes, positive beliefs about rumination and negative beliefs about rumination on the symptoms of depression, distress and anxiety were examined according to the cognitive and metacognitive models. The sampling of the study that 14-19 age consists of a total of 799 high school students to be composed by 55.4% female (n = 443) and 44.6% male (n = 356). Personal Information Form; Metacognition Questionnaire for Children and Adolescent (MCQ-C); Abbreviated Form of Scale for Dysfunctional Attitudes (DAS-R-TR); Scale for Negative Beliefs About Rumination (NBRS); Scale for Positive Beliefs About Rumination (PBRS); Scale for Automatic Thoughts (ATQ) and Scale for Depression, Stress and Anxiety (DASS21) were used as of data collection tools. The data were analysed via Statistics Program for Social Sciences (SPSS). Multiple Regression analysis was used to designate the level of independent variables to predict dependent variables. As for that to the analysis results, automatic thoughts are the strongest precursor of both depression and anxiety. Besides, rumination positive and negative rumination, metacognition scale negative meta-worry subscale, predict depression in the scores obtained from the dysfunctional attitudes scale. Automatic thoughts, rumination negative and the metacognition scale cognitive monitoring subscale predict anxiety. Metacognition scale for Negative meta-worry subscale, Automatic Thoughts Scale for Confusion and escape fantasies subscale, Automatic Thoughts Scale Personal Maladjustment and Desire for Change, Automatic Thoughts scale Loneliness and Isolation scores; significantly predict distress.
