Abstract (EN)

Knowledge and innovation are widely acknowledged as key drivers of growth and economic development and the digital and mobile eco-system are major drivers of economic progress and welfare globally. This study first focuses on the historical patterns of economic growth as well as the key denominators of digital development and knowledge society as key ICT variables. Then narrows down its focus on to the more recent, systemic and complex approaches like "The Atlas of Economic Complexity" index, ECI and then cross checks the impacts of key ICT variables on macroeconomic growth indicators between 2000- 2014 in Turkey. Finally, this thesis providing some analysis on the impact nationwide ICT infrastructure invested by the advanced economies and its contribution to the country's ability to put the infrastructure to good use through a sectoral ecosystem .
