Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, advanced exergo-economic analysis is applied to a modern turboprop aircraft engine used by cargo aircrafts for 6 different torques. As a result of the analysis, the real improvement potentials of the turboprop engine components and the interaction between the components have been revealed. Thus, thermal and economic efficiency performances of turboprop engine components under different operating conditions were evaluated. According to the conventional exergy analysis results of 630 Nm torque, the highest improvement potential is at the combustion chamber with the value of 224,5 kW. However, according to the results of advanced exergy analysis, the avoidable/endogenous exergy destruction value of the combustion chamber is only 7,55 kW. The highest avoidable/endogenous exergy destruction is found at the compressor with 43,20 kW. The highest avoidable/endogenous total cost is found at the compressor with 10,72 USD/h Avoidable/endogenous exergo-economic factor for turboprop engine main components of compressor, combustion chamber, gas generator turbine and power turbine are calculated as %80, %84, %94 and %66, respectively. The results showed that advanced exergy and advanced exergo-economic analyzes give more accurate results than conventional exergetic analyzes.
