Common literal errors in religious music performances

Religious music is divided into two groups according to the environment in which it is performed: mosque and dervish lodge music. In Arabic, mosque, which comes from the root cem, means a place where people gather, and it is one of the distinguished places where people thank Allah collectively with the aim of realizing His greatness and acting with the awareness of His ocean of mercy. Mosque music is a verbal music that basically focuses on the prayer performed together with the congregation in the mosque and the worship performed afterwards, and although it is performed individually, it is music in which the tasbihat performed within the activities of the muezzin and the tewshih recited between the chapters of the mevild are performed collectively. The environments where Sufis put their ascetic lives into practice and where Sufi thought develops are called dervish lodges. The dervish lodge music performances performed in these places called dervish lodges, asitane and zawiya are performed with certain ınstruments, unlike mosque music. The purpose of this study is to draw attention to the common wording errors made in the performances of mosque and dervish lodge music forms and to reveal the correct pronunciation of the words. The study is handled in four sections. In the first section, the mosque and dervish lodge music forms, which are the two forms of religious music, are examined; in the second and third sections, the common wording errors made in the performances of mosque and dervish lodge music forms; and in the fourth section, the common wording errors made in the performances of common forms of mosque and dervish lodge music are investigated and examined, usually by listening to social media tools. The situation that emerged as a result of the study is completed with the conclusion section.
