Abstract (EN)

Mental verbs express our cognitive capacity and cognitive mobility. Semantic classification first entered the field of grammatical studies with Vendler's "Verbs and Times (1957)" and has become increasingly important. Today's grammar studies also include thematic/semantic classifications. Some studies on mental verbs are based on the historical periods of Turkish. However, there is no comprehensive study on the Dīvān-ı Hikmet of Hodja Ahmet Yesevī, one of the most important figures of Turkish Sufi life and the founder of the Turkish Sufi language. In our Master's thesis, the mental verbs in the Egyptian copy of Dīvān-ı Hikmet dated 1650 were analyzed in three basic categories as Input Step, Process Step and Output Step Verbs and accordingly in various subcategories, taking into account the data of cognitive psychology. In the appendices, the frequency of use of mental verbs and an index are provided.
