Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to get the opinions of the faculty members about the use of juggling sequences in the secondary school mathematics curriculum on the basis of subject and mathematical modelling task. With this aim, both the mathematical dimension of juggling sequences are explained and a mathematical modelling task proposal is made within the sub-learning area of sequences in the mathematics curriculum. A qualitative research was conducted on the mathematical modelling task's plan prepared by the researcher according to the 5E model. According to the findings of the research, the vast majority of the participants wanted to include juggling sequences in their lessons. An example from everyday life to the subject, from mathematics to be associated with a concrete example, setting the technology to be associated with, for reasons such as to be a lively event to be appropriate to the context and the mathematics of juggling is interesting, reported that students develop a positive attitude. In addition, the participants stated that juggling sequences and mathematical modelling task can be included in the lesson plan because they are suitable for the curriculum, allow mathematical modeling and representation, give students different perspectives, are an example from everyday life and at the same time arouse curiosity.
