Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is, making comparison between the historical development of natural numbers and teaching of natural numbers in primary school math program in our age. With this aim, at the first section of this study representation and teaching of natural numbers was investigated that from the people of the first era cave man to, Ancient Egyptions, Mesopotamians, Ancient Greeks, Romans, Indians. It was mentionet about some famous mathematicians and historical development of zero. At second section; today's primary schoolmath program was studied and currently teaching of natural numbers' was described. At third section; we have kind of comparision. One of them is displaying natural numbers in the past and now. The other of them is how to make mathematical operation in the past and now. At last section; recommendations and conclusions from the third section was presented. Qualitative research methods were used in this research.
