With his thesis titled Erzurum according to the Eastern Newspaper (1937-1938), Erzurum province located in the Eastern Anatolia Region; Its political, administrative, economic, social and cultural life was examined by taking into consideration the copies of Doğu newspaper dated 1937-1938. In connection with the subjects examined in the study, news about the developments that took place throughout the 1930s were also included. The aim of the study is to reveal the news about the province of Erzurum in different areas between 1937 and 1938, when the Doğu newspaper was published, and to reveal its effects on the city. In Doğu newspaper, which also includes news from the country and the world; There is a wide range of news including political, military, financial, economic, social and cultural developments. The newspaper contains many news of different quality and value about the province of Erzurum. In this context, the investments planned and made in Erzurum and the innovations implemented in many areas were examined by presenting sections from the Doğu Newspaper. In the study, which mainly focuses on the construction and public works activities of Erzurum, the developments in the city such as education, health, trade, agriculture, animal husbandry, culture and art are discussed.
