Abstract (EN)

Chronic renal failure is a life-threatening disease, affecting all age-groups, which leads to work loss and various complications significantly. Despite the improvements in technology and the increased knowledge about renal replacement therapies, morbidity and mortality rates in patients with end-stage renal disease remained to be high.Inadequate dialysis is an independent risk factor, which enhances mortality and morbidity in chronic hemodialysis patients. In dialysis centers, rates of adherence to guidelines, particularly when taking post-dialysis blood-sample, were low. Therefore, it seems like there was a dialysis adequacy in some patients, although they had inadequate dialysis, it?s all due to the mistakes in procedure. Educating staff members, particularly the ones who take post-dialysis blood-samples, about the critical steps which, that guidelines prescribed, will enable to achieve more accurate data.Quality of life, which is related with mortality in hemodialysis patients, should be assessed periodically and an effort should be made in an attempt to provide better quality of life.In conclusion; recording systems of hemodialysis centers should be strenthened, adherence to guidelines composing standarts by all centers should be provided and, reaching quality indicators in the guidelines should be targeted in order to improve quality of life and life expectancy in dialysis patients.
