Abstract (EN)

In this study, field work was carried out on the Aphodiinae and Scarabaeinae subfamilies of the Scarabaeidae family in Domaniç (Kütahya) between April 2020 and March 2021, using baited pitfall traps. Sampling was carried out in the Quercus petraea (stemless oak) forest habitat, Pinus nigra (dark pine) forest habitat, and Fagus orientalis (beech) forest habitats in the study region to determine the habitat preferences of species belonging to the Scarabaeidae family. Onthophagus (Furconthophagus) furcatus (Fabricius, 1781) (24%) and O. (Palaeonthophagus) ovatus (Linnaeus, 1767) (16%) species have the highest number of individuals. Copris lunaris (Linnaeus, 1758), Melinopterus consputus (Creutzer, 1799), O. (P) truchmenus Kolenati, 1846, O. (P.) verticicornis (Laicharting, 1781) preferring only oak forest habitat, O. (P.) semicornis (Panzer, 1798) was found to prefer only the beech forest habitat. During the field work, a total of 432 pitfall traps containing dung bait and control groups were set. A total of 34 species belonging to 17 genera were determined in the study. Dominance, frequency percentage, sorensen similarity index, jaccard similarity index, simpson diversity index, shannon-wiener diversity index were used in the analysis of the data.
