Abstract (EN)
Nationalism has proven to be one of the most powerful of all political ideologies over the past two centuries, and it looks like to continue to be a powerful force in this century. Often presented as an ancient, even primitive, political ideology, nationalism, in the modern sense of the word, is indisputably an artifact of the nineteenth century. As the word itself indicates, it is often seen as somewhat "natural" for people to be members of an easily identifiable "nation" and to have deep emotional connections with it. In fact, nationalism is much more complex. Within the scope of this thesis, the researcher investigated the effect of immigration and moving to another country on the level of nationalism. As a result of the political changes in Yemen and the conditions of the war, many students had to go outside of Yemen, especially to Turkey, to complete their university education. The researcher conducted a field research in the thesis and used the quantitative research method. The surveys were distributed via Google Forms and the target sample numbered 367 respondents. The questionnaire was analyzed using SPSS. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that the nationalism level of Yemeni students in Turkey is high. The level of nationalism was measured by two dimensions: national identity and tradition and personal cultural orientation.
