Abstract (EN)
In short, the concept of propaganda, which we can think as a whole of actions based on the persuasion of the masses, means the use of systematically different methods to make the masses accept an idea, an ideology, a belief. Its purpose is to shape and direct an audience in a specific direction of thought. In this context, propaganda is a method used for different purposes at every stage of the history of civilization. In the scope of the thesis titled "Propaganda in wall paintings; Mexican example", in general, the usage areas of propaganda were examined in the historical process in particular, it was considered to examine the influence of ideology idea and thought applied on individuals and Society of wall paintings which are propaganda made on the walls of public spaces in Mexico. The historical processes that the wall paintings made for the purpose of propaganda serve for the idea of Mexican revolution were examined and the examples of visual tools such as Graphic Design, Sculpture, Cinema and Wall Painting were presented and examined after the Mexican revolution in terms of visual and content. The study observe that during the political civil wars in Mexico between 1910 and 1920, the influence of the Mexican people on their own culture caused structural disorders. The Political Powers in the government of period, it has been observed that the wall paintings played an important role in reflecting and reminding the cultural values of Mexico and that lost values reached the masses in this sense by the revolution. The lives of the three Mexican origin artists Jose Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros who were commissioned by the Mexican government, and their propaganda paintings were examined in terms of form and content.
