The relationship between patience and religiosity in individuals engaged in the art of marbling

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between religiosity and patience in individuals who are engaged in art. The research was contucted on individuals who are engaged in the art of marbling, one of our traditional arts. First of all, ın the research, a theoretical framework was created by conducting a literature study. Then, in accordance with the purposes of the research, the survey technique, one of the quantitative method techniques, was applied. The population of the research consists of individuals engaged in marbling living in Türkiye; the sample of the research consists of 230 individuals engaged in marbling art living in Türkiye; the sample of the research consists of 230 individuals engaged in marbling art participating from the provinces of İstanbul, Bursa, Sakarya, Sakarya, Ankara and Konya. Personal Information Form, Feeling the Impact of Religion Scale and Patience Scale were used as tools to collect data in the research. SPSS Statictics 20.0 package program was used to analyze the data obtained. Parametric tests were used because the skewness and kurtosis values of the data were in the +2, -2 range. Independent t test was used for pairwise cluster comparisons and Anova test was used for more than two comparisons. Tukey test was used to find the source of the difference as a result of the Anova test. According to the findings obtained from the analyses, positive significant relationship were detected between the participants' scores of feeling the religious influence and their patience scores. It can be said that as the participants' level of feeling the influence religion increases, their short-term patience, interpersonel patience and long-term patience levels increased.
