Abstract (EN)
Purpose: This research aims to examine whether the well-being perceptions of education faculty students differ based on demographic variables. Data on university students' well-being were analyzed, and the relationship between their well-being and demographic variables was evaluated. Method: This study was conducted to examine whether the well-being percep- tions of the students at the Faculty of Education of Eskişehir Osmangazi University differ according to demographic variables. Using a descriptive survey model, the study was carried out in the spring term of the 2023-2024 academic year with 380 students. The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale was used to collect data, which were analyzed using the SPSS 26 statistical program. The study assessed the relationships between students' well-being and demographic variables at a significance level. Results and Suggestions: The study findings reveal that the psychological well-being perceptions of education faculty students differ based on certain demographic variables. While no significant differences were found in terms of gender, academic success, and place of upbringing, variables such as age, parental education level, and income showed meaningful differences. Students with parents who have lower educa-tion levels demonstrated higher levels of well-being, and similarly, students from lower-income groups exhibited higher well- being scores compared to those from higher-income groups. This situation is seen to be related to the individual's perceptions and contentment rather than socio-economic factors. As a result, in order for students to have a holistic well-being, it is recommended that educational administrators and educators provide physical, mental and social support to students and it is emphasized that the process is supported with psycho-educational programs.
