Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between the health literacy levels of educational administrators working in schools and institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Education in Çorum province and institutional culture. The relational screening model, which is a general screening model, was used throughout the study. A total of 427 education administrators and teachers, including 49 institution principals, 54 deputy principals, 324 teachers, 164 women and 263 men, participated in the research. The data of the research were collected with scale forms consisting of 3 parts. The first section contains demographic information. In the second part, the 29-item School Culture Scale was used. In the third part, the 32-question TSOY-32 Scale was used. School Culture Scale consists of 29 items and 4 factors (Support Culture, Success Culture, Bureaucratic Culture, Task Culture). TSOY-32 Scale consists of 2 main dimensions: Treatment and Service and Disease Prevention/Health Promotion, and 4 sub-dimensions: accessing health-related information, understanding health-related information, evaluating health-related information and using health-related information. In order to implement the scales, permission was obtained from the Ministry of Education and an attempt was made to reach all school and institution administrators and teachers working in Çorum city center and districts. In accordance with the purposes of the research, t test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), levene homogeneity test and pearson correlation analysis were used. In the groups where significant differences emerged, Post Hoc TAMHANE, Post Hoc LSD and Post Hoc Tukey HSD tests were used to determine which groups caused the difference. According to the results of the research, it was found that there was no significant relationship at the p<.05 level between all organizational culture sub-dimensions and all health literacy main dimensions. It was observed that 86.1% of the managers participating in our research had an inadequate health literacy level, 11.9% had a problematic-limited health literacy level, and 2% had an adequate health literacy level, and there were no managers with an excellent health literacy level.
