Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this article is to evaluate the impact of remittances on economic growth and poverty reduction among post-Soviet states when compared to other sources of foreign capital such as foreign aid and foreign direct investment. This paper uses a panel dataset on forecasts of economic growth and poverty in five selected post-Soviet republics. The study covers five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The effects of remittances on economic growth are analyzed by using panel data of Central Aya countries for the period 2000 and 2018. Fixed and random effects are included by using dependent and independent variables.
