Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, a 10 kW interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is designed for electric vehicle applications, and the motor's electromagnetic behavior is analyzed. The primary objective of the study is to minimize torque ripple and cogging torque, which adversely affect motor performance, while maintaining high efficiency by reducing the magnetic flux density. In this context, various design parameters related to the stator and rotor geometry, as well as magnet placement strategies, are investigated, and their effects on the motor's magnetic performance are evaluated. The analyses were carried out using a simulation program based on the finite element method, and design improvements were made based on the obtained results. Throughout the design process, torque ripple and cogging torque were successfully reduced, and magnetic flux density was lowered to control saturation regions. As a result, the torque quality, efficiency, and overall electromagnetic behavior of the motor are significantly improved.
