Abstract (EN)

The increasing need for electrical energy is already placing a burden on the grid. In addition, feeding electric vehicles with high power needs by the system brings with it some concerns. In this thesis, the effects that electric vehicles may have on the grid capacity are investigated over the years. This investigation is carried out with the help of the OpenDSS simulation program on a determined pilot distribution network. Charging stations are placed at randomly determined points according to the increase in electric vehicles, and transformer and line capacity densities are comparatively examined and presented by considering different situations on a real network. As a result, it has been revealed that the current network capacity will be insufficient compared to the increasing number of electric vehicles in recent years, there may be upward changes in peak hours, and if this situation is not managed, it may cause power outages. In addition, it has been revealed that for planned new investments, electric vehicles should be taken into consideration in investment planning, and the high demand that will occur during peak hours should be managed.
