Abstract (EN)

In this study, the convection heat transfer effect of the usage of an aluminum foam material which are the lower surfaces in a rectangular channel is investigated experimentally. The air is used as a cooling fluid. The lower surface of the channel was equipped with 2x8 foam blocks placed on copper plates subjected to uniform heat flux. Aluminum foam materials have different porosities (10, 20 and 40 PPI) are used in order to increase heat transfer. The effect of aluminum foam porosities, foam heights and the height of the channel to heat transfer are examined seperately. The experimental study was carried out for different Reynolds numbers 496
