ABSTRACTInvestigation The Reasons And Types Of İnjury Among Elite Women Volleyball PlayersThe purpose of this study was to investigate the reasons and types of injuries among elite women volleyball players. Totally 84 players who were played in 12 teams in 2011-2012 season of Turkish Aroma Women Volleyball 1.League participated in to study voluntary. Data collected by using sport in injury survey which was developed by researcher. SPSS 16,0 used to analysis. Analysis showed that majority of player (%70,2) were did not used protective equipment. In paralel majority of players had injuries (%77,3). Injuries mostly occured in the spiker position (29.2%) and in the most injuries occured during training (62.1%), arm and shoulder area was the most cause of injury (47.3%) and injuries mostly recover more than 4 weeks (52.3%) were determined. According to findings it is possible to say that for decreasing the injuries, players encouraged to use protective equipment and training loads should be well planning. Future studies should focus on these injury types and preventive exercises need to be planned.Key words:Sport,volleyball,injury
