Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between elite level boxers' in sports motivation, aggression and anger levels Turkey Boxing Federation licensed active in the 2019-2020 season. As a data collection tool in the research, Personal information form, developed by Pelletier et al. (1995) and adapted to Turkish by Kazak (2004), "Sport Motivation Scale - SMS" and developed by Maxwell and Moores (2007) and adapted to Turkish by Gürbüz, Kural and Özbek (2019) "Competitive Aggressiveness and Anger Scale - CAAS" were used. SPSS 22.0 package program was used to analyze the data and frequency, percentage, descriptive statistics, independent two sample t-Test, one-way variance analysis ANOVA, pearson correlation and regression analysis were used. According to the t-Test results of the gender variable in the findings of the study, there was a significant difference in the external regulation sub-dimension of SSI (p<0.05), while no statistically significant difference was found in the total score averages and sub-dimensions of the SSRS (p>0.05). According to the age variable of the participants, no statistically significant difference was found in the total score averages and sub-dimensions of the SDI and SSRS according to the ANOVA test educational status variable (p> .05). In addition, as a result of the ANOVA test performed according to the sports age variable, there was a significant difference in the external regulation sub-dimension of SSI (p<0.05), and no statistically significant difference was found in the total score averages and sub-dimensions of the SSRS (p>0.05). As a result of the t-Test conducted according to the national athlete status variable, there was a significant difference in the external regulation sub-dimension of the SSI (p<0.05), while no statistically significant difference was found in the total score average and sub-dimensions of the SSRS (p>0.05). The regression model established to determine the effect of sports motivation sub-dimensions on anger in sports is not appropriate (F(3;173)=9,36; p<0,05) and the motivation variables in sports are about 2% of the change in anger level in sports (ΔR2 = 0.020 ) can explain. In addition, the regression model established to determine the effect of the motivation sub-dimensions in sports on aggression in sports is appropriate (F(3;173)=9,36; p<0,05) and the motivation variables in sports are about 12% of the change in the level of aggression in sports (ΔR2 = 0.125). As a result, a significant relation was found between the motivation level of elite boxers in sports and their aggression and anger levels. Therefore, this situation is motivated by the aggression and anger level of elite level boxers in sports competitions and their motivation levels increase.
