Research of the enrichment in Hisarcık and Espey concentrator tailings at Emet Boron Directorship with microwave energy using

In this study the available thin tailing process existing after the boron process has been searched causing the environmental problems and economical losses at Emet Boron Directorship and Espey concentrator institute. Initially the chemical, physical and physico-chemical characterization tests of the samples have been studied. In this research, sample from the Hisarcık tailing dam includes 19,1%B2O3 and sample from the Espey tailing dam includes 27,86%B2O3. According to the results of the mineralogical analys Espey tailing sample includes colemanite, montmorillonite and calcite, and the Hisarcık tailing sample includes colemanite, calcite and illite minerals.In the experimental studies the enrichment availability has been searched with the usage of microwave energy of Espey and Hisarcık concentrator tailings. The different type of tests at different time and microwave power levels have been studied to enrich the tailings at microwave oven and optimum conditions have been determined. Under the condition of 30 min. microwave energy at 800 watt microwave for the Hisarcık tailing sample at 0,5mm grain size; 94,62% efficiency and 46%B2O3 concentration tenor results have been carried out.
