Abstract (EN)

Emirdağ is one of the districts with the highest emigration abroad within Afyonkarahisar province. These migrations, the development of technology and the globalizing world have put the traditional folklore elements of the district in danger of extinction. Folklore is a branch of science that deals with the cultural products in the material and spiritual fields of the people of a country or a certain region, compiles, classifies, analyzes and interprets them with its own methods and aims to unify them in the final stage. Introducing the folklore and cultural characteristics of the region is the main duty of folklorists in the region. The purpose of the research; The aim is to introduce Emirdağ district, which is the subject of many works with its cultural richness, and to compile the folk literature and folklore elements of the district, and to obtain new findings by evaluating the compiled materials with relevant sources. In this context, Emirdağ district, Davulga and Gömü Municipalities of the district constitute the population of the research. In this research, written, oral and electronic sources were used, and the compilation was made through audio recording, using the semi-structured interview technique along with the observation method. As a result, new findings were obtained on general information about Emirdağ district, the verse, prose and free genres of the district's folk literature and the folk knowledge of the district.
