Abstract (EN)

This study covers the process of developing and determining the fundamental dimensions and items of a scale that aims to measure the impact of industrial design education on students' ecological attitudes. The objective of the study is to initiate the development of a scale to assess the ecological attitudes of industrial design students. Within this scope and objective, various ecological and environmental awareness and attitude scales developed for different purposes and populations were compiled and examined. Based on these scales, the dimensions and items related to industrial design education were presented to experts in the field of industrial design for their opinions. Dimensions and items that could be specialized in the context of industrial design education were attempted to be determined by considering the expert views. Results indicates three dimensions named 'Sustainability', 'Product Life Cycle', 'Ecological Responsibility' were identified, which can be used to measure the existing ecological attitudes of industrial design students, and the corresponding items were proposed. This study has potential to provide a foundation and serves as a tool for the future development of the scale, encouraging students to contemplate their ecological attitudes in more detail.
