Abstract (EN)

Due to recently increasing power demand and necessity of uninterrupted power, interconnected structures of power systems have been enlarged. As a result of using new technologies, complexity of power systems is increased. In order to produce quality electrical energy with minimum cost, power systems must be operated close to their stability limits.Unbalances between power generation and demand in interconnected power systems negatively affect synchronization and stability of generators. The oscillations in angular speed and rotor angle are occurred because of various reasons. If adequate damping can not be produced, these oscillations known as low frequency oscilations may be sustained for minutes and grow to cause system seperation. For improving dynamic stability of power system and damping of low frequency oscillations because of breakdown, a number of studies on using of supplementary excitation control signal were performed and are performed. In this study Fuzzy Logic PID (FPID) control method was applied to Power System Stabilizer (PSS) on one machine infinite bus system. FPID control performance was compared with Conventional PSS (CPSS), PID controller and Fuzzy Logic (FL) controller by simulation studies. The best performance was obtained with FPID controller.
