Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between separation-individuatin, multi measure agentic personality trait and perceived social support were examined. In addition to this, it was investigated whether multi measure agentic personality trait and perceived social support predicted separation-individuation. The reseaarch was carried out with a relational screening model among descriptive studies. The dependent variable of the research is separation-individuation, and independent variable is multi measure agentic personality trait and perceived social support. The study group of the research consist of 675 adolescents. In this study, Separation-Individuation Inventory of Adolescence, Multi-Measure Agentic Personality Inventory and Multi Measure Perceived Social Support Inventory were used as data collection tools. The data obtained were analyzed with SPSS 26 package program. Multiple Regression Analysis was used to determine whether multi measure agentic personality trait and perceived social support predicted separation-individuation. In order to test, whether separation-individuation differs according to gender, t-Test was used for independent groups in two groups comparisons. In this study, maximum error marging is accepted as .05. When relationships between variables were investigated, firstly it was observed that there was a meaningful negative relationship between separation anxiety and self-esteem, self-efficacy, life goals, sum of Multi-Measure Agentic Personality Inventory score. There was not meaningful relationship between separation anxiety and internal locus of control. Finally, there was no meaningful relationship between separation anxiety and perceived social support and sub-dimensions. Secondly, it was observed that there was a meaningful negative relationship between engulfment anxiety and sub-dimensions of multi measure agentic personality trait; life goals, self-efficacy and sum of Multi-Measure Agentic Personality Inventory. In addition, there is no significant relationship between engulfment anxiety and internal locus of control. It was also observed that there was a meaningful negative relationship between perceived social support from family and sum of Multi Meaure Perceived Social Support score. Thirdly, it was observed that there was a meaningful negative relationship between rejection expectation and sub-dimensions of multi measure agentic personality traits; self-esteem, self-efficacy and life goals, but there was no significant relationship between internal locus of control. It was observed that there was a meaningful negative relationship between rejection expectation and self-esteem. When the research finding were considered regarding perceived social support, there was meaningful negative relationship between rejection expectation and perceived social support and sub-dimensions of perceived social support. In order to determine whether separation anxiety can be predicting by multi measure agentic personality traits and perceived social support multiple regression analysis were used. According the result of regression analysis it was found that, self-efficacy, self-esteem, life goals and multi measure agentic personality traits significantly predicted separation anxiety and explained %5 of the variance in separation anxiety. It was also found that, life goals, perceived social support from family, self-efficacy, multi measure agentic personality traits and multi measure perceived social support significantly predicted engulfment anxiety and explained %24 of the variance in engulfment anxiety. Finally according the result of regression analysis it was found that, life goals, perceived social support from family and perceived social support from friend significantly predicted rejection expectation and explained %37 of the variance in rejection expectation. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was found that sub-dimensions of separation-individuation was significantly different according to gender. Findings were discussed in the light of literature.
