Abstract (EN)

Purpose: This study aims to examine the mediating role of digital addiction in the relationship between mindfulness and life satisfaction in adolescents. Materials and methods: A correlational survey model will be used in this study. The sample of the study consists of 557 students attending high school in the city center of Malatya during the 2024-2025 academic year. Data were collected using the "Sociodemographic Information Form," "Digital Addiction Scale for Youth," "Child and Adolescent Mindfulness Scale," and "Student Life Satisfaction Scale." Statistical analyses were performed using the SPSS 25.0 statistical program. Findings: According to the results of the study, it was determined that adolescents' life satisfaction levels did not differ significantly according to gender and age, but showed significant differences according to school type, parents' education status, income status, and internet usage time. Students attending science high schools had significantly higher life satisfaction than their peers attending Anatolian high schools and vocational-technical high schools. Adolescents whose parents had postgraduate education had higher life satisfaction than adolescents whose parents were elementary school graduates. Students with high income status were found to have higher life satisfaction than students with very low and low income status. Finally, it was found that students who used the internet for 1-3 hours had higher life satisfaction than students who used the internet for 6 hours or more. Conclusion: Digital addiction plays a mediating role in the relationship between mindful awareness and life satisfaction in adolescents. Keywords: Digital Addiction, Life Satisfaction, Mindful Awareness
