Abstract (EN)

Railways were an invention that made its name frequently in the history of the World during the 19th century. The first step of modern railway was taken with the invention of George Stephenson in 1825. The most important reason why railways have become a need in the world is the Industrial Revolution. As it is known that the raw materials and labor which the states need that have been engaged in production activities have emerged with the Industrial Revolution. In this context, by transporting a transportation vehicle such as Railway to the farthest region of the world, raw material and labor needs were met. In particular, a new market opportunity has emerged to sell manufactured goods. On the other hand, the first acquaintance of the Ottoman Empire with the railway was appeared in 1856 with the opening of the Cairo-Alexandria line. The State attached importance to the construction of railways and initiated the construction of many railways such as Rumeli Railway, Hejaz Railway, Anatolia-Baghdad Railway. The foreign company that will build the railways has been taken care of by the Germans because it was caused by the Abdulhamid II was not trusted in the British and the French.In fact, with the construction of the railroad in many Ottoman villages, towns and settlements, economic and social life has been revived, production has increased. Inonu railway construction and management of the region in every aspect positively affected the life in terms of employment. Bilecik is located at an intersection point that connects Istanbul and Ankara, the two important routes of the Anatolian-Baghdad Railway.
