Abstract (EN)
Electronic marketing practices provide institutions/organizations, individuals and all actors in the market with time advantage especially and offer no limitation in terms of location. In parallel to rapidly increased Internet usage in the world and in Turkey, as computers and smart mobile devices gained quite an important position in the daily life, electronic marketing applications have become widespread in all sectors. Today, electronic marketing practices with modernized technological infrastructure are used along with traditional practices. The fact that event marketing practices, which constitute the basic research subject of the study, provide institutions/organizations and individuals with time, space and cost advantages reveals the importance of this matter. The case study eventvise.com, which was presented during the process of case study of the research, operates with Web 2.0 technology ensuring institutions/organizations and participants to follow the events that take place in the city of Bolu on electronic medium, and manage event marketing process mutually. The study was conducted with a case study, which is one of explorative research methods. In the process of identifying the problem, the application was encoded with Ruby on Rails language, which is an open source, application-development framework. In the process of determining proceedings required to solve the problem, the application has the future of a platform which is established with Web 2.0 technology where users (institutions/organizations and participants) take an active role. The case study eventvise.com consists of business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) electronic commerce models. The efficiency of using a website as a distribution channel for the announcement of the events organized in Bolu province was analyzed with the purposive sampling method, which is a type of improbable sampling and supported by the data obtained from the in-depth interviews performed with six participants. During the data collection, in-depth interviews were performed with the six participants who were considered representing the field subject to the study for 30-45 minutes. The interview data were recorded with a voice recorder upon the permission of the participants, and later, the interviews were analyzed by the researcher. It is aimed with the study to determine the efficiency of using a website as a distribution channel for the announcement of events organized in the province of Bolu. The study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the concept of electronic marketing, its importance, properties, method and development are explained. In the second chapter, event marketing process is discussed. In the third section, the importance, scope, limits and type of the application are explained along with general information and current data about the sector of event marketing; the case study application of eventvise.com is examined and the case study applied for determining the efficiency of using a website as a distribution channel for the announcement of the events organized in the province of Bolu was analyzed with the purposive sampling method, which is a type of improbable sampling.
