Abstract (EN)
Promoting learning and innovation skills (critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity skills) of the 21st century is considered to be of great importance in language teaching area, which leads to students' both academic and future success. As the course books are regarded as a core teaching materials in foreign language teaching, it is essential for course books to include a variety of activities that help to promote critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity skills of learners. In this respect, fostering 21st century skills through the course books is a necessary issue to be investigated. This present study is an attempt to explore whether the course book called "New Language Leader Pre-Intermediate" used in Çukurova University School of Foreign Languages include activities that foster learning and innovation skills of learners. As a result of the evaluation, it was found that the coursebook is sufficient to improve the learners' critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity skills.
