Abstract (EN)

This research aims to investigate the perceptions of students and teachers regarding the Tech It Easy 2 coursebook, which is widely used in private foreign language centers in Greece. This study was designed as a mixed methods research using both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. In the quantitative part, the opinions of 100 students on various aspects of the Tech it Easy 2 English coursebook were obtained through the survey developed by Öz (2019), which also contained open-ended questions about the coursebook. 20 teachers completed the teachers' version of the same instrument, which had some additional sections. The teachers' survey also had same open-ended questions which were used to collect qualitative data. To identify the strengths and weaknesses of the coursebook, qualitative data was gathered from participants. The discussion section of the study discusses the findings of the independent evaluation of the qualitative and quantitative data. In the quantitative part of the research, descriptive statistics of SPSS software were used to analyze the data collected through surveys. Qualitative data was analysed using descriptive content analysis. The results of this study indicated that while learners appreciated the layout and organization of the coursebook, there were notable areas of dissatisfaction, particularly with grammar, vocabulary, and the facilitation of study skills. Teachers specifically criticized the teacher's manual. Overall, participants expressed moderate satisfaction with the coursebook, suggesting that improvements are necessary to enhance its effectiveness.
