Evaluation of Four Seasons coursebook in terms of curriculum objectives and effectiveness in developing listening skill

Evaluation of coursebooks has become more and more important to increase the quality of coursebooks in foreign language teaching. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate Four Seasons 8 coursebook in terms of curriculum objectives and effectiveness in developing listening skill.In the light of the results, it can be inferred that, the book could not manage to realize all objectives stated in the curriculum. As for the findings related to teaching listening skill, Four Seasons coursebook realized to reflect the typical process of listening teaching / learning partially with relevant activities and sub-skills. However, the book has more focus on bottom-up processing rather than combining it with top-down processing in order to prepare students for real-life situations.
