Abstract (EN)
There is a great need to foster and strengthen Regional Economic Diplomacy in the Southern African Region to promote economic growth and development as well as improve the quality of life of the people in the region. Due to the numerous obstacles that many of the countries in the region face, the economic growth in the Southern Africa region has slowed down recently. According to recent economic assessments by the African Development Bank, prospects for the region, which is lagging behind other regions of Africa, have been dampened by civil turmoil, electrical crises, epidemics, and natural disasters. Zambia, due to its strategic geographical location, is positioned as a potential driver of regional economic diplomacy. The research seeks to comprehensively examine Zambia's role in fostering and strengthening regional economic diplomacy in the Southern African Region. It provides strategies and initiatives that can be employed to foster and strengthen regional economic diplomacy. The purpose of the thesis is to provide a well-structured and empirical analysis of Zambia's role, which will yield valuable insights into the topic that will help both Zambia and the region as a whole. Numerous beneficial effects may result from effectively promoting and strengthening regional economic diplomacy in the Southern African Region. As an affluent and cohesive regional bloc, the Southern African Region has the potential to enhance its global influence and strengthen its position in international discussions and cooperation. But attaining these results will need consistent work, efficient administration, and all member states' dedication to the objectives of regional economic diplomacy.
