Abstract (EN)

It has been shown that the importance of AQP1 in homeostasis and the place in the central nervous system. On the contrary that, very few studies has been the subject role in the peripheral nervous system. In our study, the cut injury which is commonly seen of the sciatic nevre as one of injury, proximal, lesion area and in the portion of distal of the nevre, detection has been aimed that the localization and density of AQP1 in 2nd, 24th and 48th hours. In our study, Mus musculus type 30 female Balb/ C mice were used. Subjects, divided into three groups as control, sham and incision. Also incision group were divided into three sub-groups 2nd postoperative hour, 24th postoperative hours, 48th postoperative hours. In the groups AQP1 expression levels were analyzed quantitatively. After incision in the proximal, the incision and distal of the nerve an increase in the expression of AQP1 at 2nd, 24th and 48th hours of the damage was observed. The most obvious increase was observed in the lesion area of nerve and 24 th postoperative hours. After a lesion in the proximal body to a lesser extent AQP1 immunoreactivity was observed. In contrast, increased expression of AQP1 in lesion area by very large intensity and post injury in 24th hour in body distal of nevre have been identified. According to these findings, the increased AQP1 immunoreactivity could be related to increased pain and the increased synaptic activity realized in the transmission. Key Words: Sciatic Nerve, Aquaporin 1, Degeneration, Regeneration
